Lightning Swift Tara
This original artwork is a devotion to the Tibetan goddess, Tara and a variation of her seed syllable is featured in the center, emerging from a lotus flower. The syllable and lotus were painted in gold utilizing stencils that I designed and cut out, freehand. The banner is quilted in an original design and sewn on my vintage Singer sewing machine. This banner has two thread-hooks on either side on the back to hang from. Tara is known to come the aid of those who ask for her help with “lightning swift speed.”

Kuan Yin Banner
This printed and quilted textile banner features a photo print of Kuan Yin, Goddess of Mercy. She is surrounded by additional prints from original, hand-cut stencils inspired by Buddhist artwork and the Tibetan mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum. The piece is accented by freehand quilting and vintage lace. The prints were created at a surface design / fibers workshop with artist Clare Verstegen at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN.
